Peer Tutoring CHEMISTRY in a Virtual Classroom
Chemistry is a challenging course for most high school students. It requires higher order thinking skills and the synthesis of multiple themes for successful problem solving.
In an effort to supplement our direct instruction, we have created and implemented a strategy for peer tutoring among chemistry students enrolled at Agora Cyber Charter School.
We intended this resource to enhance student achievement by offering additional modeling of complex tasks. We expected that these student-led sessions would encourage participation and offer alternative perspectives on the content.
Though regular attendance was not observed, this program proved essential for some students to achieve their goals..
